The Ebony Canal - STL Metro Premiere
St. Louis — this one is for every Black mama in our region. 🖤
The film the country has been waiting for is coming here. The Ebony Canal — narrated by Viola Davis, honored with Emmy and NAACP Image Awards, and fresh from the Cannes Film Festival — arrives in St. Louis for one day only, and the doors are open to everyone.
Missouri has one of the worst maternal health records in the country for Black women. That is the truth. But so is this: our city has doulas, midwives, OBs, advocates, and families who are rewriting that story every single day. On June 13 we are gathering all of them in one room — and we are honoring nine of those organizations for the work they do.

Before you Google it — ask a nurse.
Pregnant? Are you wondering
“Is this normal?”
“Should I be worried?”
“Am I bothering my provider?”
“I don’t want to Google this again.”
“I feel silly asking this at my appointment.”
Join me for a 20-minute live pregnancy Q&A where you can ask a registered nurse about what’s normal, what might need follow-up, and how to advocate for your care.
